Ever since my friend Leslie introduced me to beer bread I have been in love. There is just something about it that makes you want to keep eating. Oh and beer bread is always so simple to make.
This bread is savory and great with chili, soup or pasta. I served this bacon cheese beer bread with meatloaf and it was a big hit with El Hubby.
Bacon Cheese Beer Bread
Adapted from: The Slow Roasted Italian
Ingredients:
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 1/4 cup shredded cheese
1 12 ounce bottle of beer
4 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F. Spray bread pan with cooking spray and set aside
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar with a whisk. Make a well in the center. Add bacon, about 3/4 of cheese and full beer into the well
3. Stir mixture with a spoon until combined
4. Pour mixture into prepared bread pan. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon melted butter. Bake for 30 minutes
5. Remove from oven and drizzle remaining melted butter over the top
6. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until browned on top and loaf thumps when you tap the top
7. Remove to a wire rack and allow to cool for about 5 minutes.
This bread was super yummy. The cheese I used was a mixture of colby and cheddar and the beer I used was MGD. Nothing too fancy but the bread turned out well. El Hubby and I enjoyed the bread with some meatloaf. This bread was also very good by itself. We toasted it for breakfast and it was just as yummy.
I am starting to feel that my fur baby is quite spoiled.
Maybe even spoiled rotten sometimes.
Lately she has started this thing where she wakes me up in the middle of the night to pet her. The pup will jump on the bed and repeatedly stick her head under my hand until I wake up. Then she turns on her back and wiggles until I start to pet her. El Hubby says I have spoiled her rotten. Sad!
Continue to eat good food and play with your fur babies.
XOXO

Loaded Beer Bread
What do you do when you have beer left over from tailgating? You make beer bread! If you have never had beer bread then you are missing out. It is quick, easy, and yummy when made correctly. I have been wanting to try this beer bread on steroids for a while but haven't had the chance. Since I decided to make pasta I figured there is no better time.
Loaded Beer Bread
Adapted from JavaCupcake
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups wheat flour
1/4 cup sugar
4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons oregano
1 teaspoon parsley
1 teaspoon basil
2 cups cheddar cheese
12 oz beer
3 tablespoons butter, melted
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Butter a 9 x 5 loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and herbs.
3. Add the cheese and mix until incorporated.
4. Pour 12 oz of beer into the flour mixture and with a wooden spoon mix it until all the ingredients are wet and incorporated. Do not over mix!
5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
6. Bake for about 50 minutes, rotating pan after 30 minutes.
7. About 2 minutes before it is done pour the melted butter over the top of the bread and put back in the oven for the last 2 minutes.
8. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before removing the bread to cool completely.
This bread came out pretty dee-lish. A little on the salty side but with pasta it was good. I will be sticking this recipe in my recipe book.
It's been super cold here in the morning. I swear it went from 100 degrees to 60 degrees over night. Not cool! All this cold weather makes it super hard to get out of bed in the morning. I mean, who wants to leave a toasty bed for a freezing cold bathroom? Oh and to make the decision harder is a snuggling pup. I mean who wants to leave a heat warmer like a pup for a cold bathroom? No me.
Keep on cooking my friends and stay warm. Winter is coming.
XOXO

MGD Honey Beer Bread
Okay so during football season my husband got a little crazy with the beer for tailgating. You see beer is easy to carry when it's in a box. So every time he would buy a new case to tailgate. However, there seems to always be a few left behind that we would bring back after the game. So now that football season is over I have a whole bunch of random beer. What is a girl to do? MAKE BEER BREAD! Muahahaha! Okay I might be a little crazy but honey beer bread is super yummy.
My parents have never had honey beer bread so since my mom and I decided to play hooky from work I make some honey beer bread and called her up to pick it up.
Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup wheat flour
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup honey
1 can of MGD (12oz can)
3 tablespoons melted butter
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a bread pan with generously with cooking spray.
2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. Slowly pour the beer alternating with honey. Mix enough just so everything is incorporated. The less you mix the better. Don't worry about lumps.
4. Bake for 60 minutes. The top should be a nice brown color and tooth pick insert should come out nice and dry.
This bread is such a good snack. I know that sounds weird but once you have tried it you will understand what I mean. I am normally not a MGD kind of girl but this bread is good. My mom tried it and couldn't believe that it was made from beer. My dad called me that night and wanted to do what was really in the bread. BEER! He didn't believe me. But what else is new? That man never believe my cooking ability. Oh well. Snack on!
Enjoy!

Honey Beer Bread
What's yummier on a cold night watching a Harry Potter marathon than some honey beer bread?

I have had this recipe for a while and have never had a chance to make it. It was super easy and I will for sure be making this again.
3 cups of all purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp honey
1 can or bottle beer (12 oz)
3 tbsp butter (melted)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a bread pan with the melted butter. Save the rest for later.
In a bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
A great trick for the honey is to microwave it. I microwaved it for about 15 seconds to make it easier to work with.
Add the honey and beer to the dry mixture. Mix enough just so everything is incorporated. Don't worry about lumps.
Bake for 60 minutes. The top should be a nice brown color and a tooth pick insert should come out nice and dry.
This bread was so yummy that I am for sure going to make it again. It kinda has the same consistency as a biscuit.

The husband loved it and requested it be made with chili next time. Who knew bread could be this easy? It also made the house smell incredibly good.
Thank you Leslie Berroya for forwarding this recipe to me!
