Swine Flu

So this Swine Flu business is getting pretty serious.

Mexico is shutting down businesses for the next 5 days. Mexico is urging it's citizens to stay at home. Apparently home is the most safe place to be right now.

Swine flu has symptoms nearly identical to regular flu — fever, cough and sore throat — and spreads like regular flu, through tiny particles in the air, when people cough or sneeze. People with flu symptoms are advised to stay at home, wash their hands and cover their sneezes.

Many countries are taking drastic measures in protecting it's people. Egypt slaughtered 300,000 pigs and banned kissing.

There has been 109 cases in the United States and 1 death.

This is some serious business. I am going to start washing my hands every hour and pretty much not touching my face. I advice everyone else to do the same.

Jon & Kate

Sadly I think I will be purchasing this issue of US Weekly.

This article is pretty helpful. The article talks about 3 ways to get your marriage back on track. The advice is simple.

1. Take care of yourself first
2. Don't rehash the negative
3. Grab time-outs for sex

I think everyone is so busy these days that we don't take time and put in the effort. I can't wait to try these.

I love smartphones. They are so addicting. Once you get one to just can't go back to a regular phone. Call, text, picture message, email, instant message, google message, web access ... all social networks! Oh I love technology!

My Celtics won tonight against the Bulls. I got a little scared. The defending champs better make it past the first round.

Man I miss KG.

I even got a new hair ribbona ... white with green clovers.

Now I know 2 postings about Leno in the same week is a little much. But please forgive me. I just found out that he and I share the same birthday. That means there is a bond.

Any hooo ... I guess Jay felt ill and checked himself into the Burbank hospital. He's been released and is resting at home. The Tonight Show is cancelled tonight. Sad.

I hope you feel better Jay!

Donating Bodies

Everyone once in a while I forget why I am a part of Tzu Chi. But as soon as I do I am reminded why I am. Master Cheng Yen makes the hardest things simple.

It's always hard getting people to donate their bodies for medical research but it's even harder for asian people. The Chinese people believe that you don't damage the body before burial. It's a very old believe. If you ask around many people don't even know the exact reason why but they will tell you "if why my parents told me and that's what their parents told them". Well Master Cheng Yen has started a movement for more people to donate their bodies after death. Her reasoning: because society needs you. People have always been conservative in corpse donation but now Tzu Chi has made people more open-minded. In order for medical students to learn they have to practice and for them to practice they have to practice on something. Tzu Chi does a amazing job giving these donors a Buhddist ceremony and educating the students about each individuals and their family before had. The reason: we want compassionate doctors.

Text Messaging

So text messaging is a huge crazy now. There may even be a chance that more people text message than talk on the phone! My BFF's step mother thinks it's crazy.

But here is my point of view ... you can text message anywhere but you might not be able to call someone anywhere. Also when you are on the phone people near by can hear all about your business, not so when you text message. You can read your text messages whenever it is convenient but you might not be able to answer your phone when it rings. Also this might be important for men ... a text message is a easy response when talking to someone (your girlfriend might take a 30 minutes on the phone trying to tell you something but it might only take her 2 text messages to tell you what happened and your not on the phone going "uh huh") See? There are many positives to text messaging.

Safety first! Please becareful text messaging why driving and walking! (I don't say don't do it cause lets face it ... we do it!)

So my husband has a Twitter account but does not actually Twitter. Lame. Why have a account if you are not going to par-take in it? I guess this means I am the avid blogger in the family.

Ring Tone

My husband does not call me enough. I am complaining cause I want to hear his ring tone.

Could I have thought of a better ring tone? I think not!

Hello Kitty

Lady Gaga like Hello Kitty too!

So cool. This makes me want to grow out my hair again. Okay ... maybe not that drastic ...

17 again

Okay, so I am surprised how much I liked 17 again. I watched the movie with the husband yesterday afternoon and really enjoyed it. 17 again is a feel good movie. It's about love and what woman wouldn't like that. I guess I am just a sucker for love.

I just found out that I share my birthday with Jay Leno.

Vintage Days

Vintages Days is always fun. Interesting things to look at and good food. What more can you ask for. However, today was extremely hot. 94 degrees however is a no bueno.

The result of Vintage Days is a Pepcid, 2 advils, and 2 sudafed. FML.

So yummy

Mmm ... Now I am normally not a big fan for Chinese desserts. But this is the yummiest egg custard tart I have ever eaten. The crust is nice and buttery yet just the right mixture of flakeyness. The egg custard is smooth and just the right amount of sweetness. Oh so good. Times like these makes me wish I could make Chinese food.

Tzu Chi Dental Mobile

I never stopped to admire the dental mobile until yesterday. It is a beautiful car. I wish I took more pictures of it. The mobile can be driven almost anywhere and as long as there is a dentist it can see patients. What a great thing.

Product Plug

Thanks to Miss Rianne I am currently addicted to this Hourglass product ...

It is so awesome and can be found at Sephora. If you are looking for a new primer I highly suggest this one. It has SPF 15, goes on smoothly and dries fast so you can put on your makeup. What else can you ask for? At $52 a bottle it is a little pricey but very much worth the investment.

Good luck ladies ... remember to be a MILF you got to start early!

So there have been some concerns with me and this blog by my husband. Apparently he is concerned about my safety because of my stalking comment.

Now maybe my dear husband has watched too many episodes of One Tree Hill or maybe his arguement is valid. However, I would like to reasure him that my phone number (555-XXXX) and address (1234 Pennsylvina Avenue NW) will not be used. If at any time this blog becomes unsafe he will have the say in the shutdown.

Kate Gosselin

Jon & Kate Plus 8 is one of my favorite reality TV shows. When I heard that Kate was going to be in town for a book signing for her new book Eight Faces I knew I was going to skip the NKOTB concert. My wonderful husband waited in line with me. More pictures to come ...

So we do it. I'll be the first to admit. I text all the time and everywhere. You name it I've texted there. I text when I first wake up in the morning, as I am getting ready in the bathroom, while I eat my breakfast, while I watch the morning news, while I am driving, while I am at work (dont't tell my boss) ... etc.

But should doctors be allowed to text while in surgery?

Since many things catch my attention during the day I've decided to start a blog. Some say that I am amusing, funny, rude, angry, etc. But that is each persons own opinion. Stalk me if I interest you.
